No. 16 Behrend Soccer Hosts Annual HLM Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 16 Penn State Behrend men's soccer team opens the 2019 season with the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament this weekend at the soccer complex on Saturday and Sunday, August 31 and September 1.

* Head Coach Dan Perritano begins his 26th year with the Lions and is joined by David Krems on the sidelines
* Behrend was voted first by the AMCC Coaches in the preseason poll
* The Lions finished the season 16-4-2 and ranked No. 16 in the season-ending United Soccer Coaches poll
* Senior defender Andrew Mastovich (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) was selected Preseason Defender of the Year
* Behrend won its ninth AMCC Championship last season and made its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance
* The Lions return 14 veterans and welcome 12 freshman to this year's squad

* Baldwin Wallace was picked sixth in the 2019 OAC Preseason Poll after finishing 2018 with a 7-10-2 overall record
* The Yellow Jackets went 1-1 in last year's Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament, defeating Geneseo 3-2 and falling to Houghton, 3-2
* Chatham is a first-year program under the direction of Keith Danley
* The Cougars have 16 freshmen, two sophomores, four juniors and two seniors
* Alfred posted a 6-13 overall record in 2018
