Men's Soccer Set to Compete in Brick City Classic Hosted by Rutgers Newark

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team will travel to Newark, New Jersey for a pair of non-conference games this weekend at the Brick City Classic. The Lions will face Rutgers Newark on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and then battle TCNJ on Sunday, beginning at 12 p.m.

* The Lions captured the Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament last weekend with a pair of wins
* Behrend defeated Morrisville 6-0 in the opening game and then posted a 4-1 decision over Baldwin Wallace in the championship game
* Senior midfielder Cameron Eckberg (Westmoreland City, PA/Norwin) was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Offensive Player of the Week for scoring two goals and adding an assist for five points in the HLM Tournament
* Junior goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere) earned AMCC Defensive Player of the Week
* York posted a 2-1 record on the week, making nine saves including one on a penalty kick in the HLM Championship game
* Freshman Chris Profaca (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and senior Matthew Romesberg Jr. (Hollsopple, PA/North Star) also tallied two goals apiece over the weekend, while freshman Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) dished out a pair of assists
* Head coach Dan Perritano is currently ranked 10th among active winningest coaches in Division III men's soccer with a 355-163-42 overall record
