Cousin III Named Assistant Coach at University of Wyoming

LARAMIE, WY – Former Penn State Behrend swimmer Harmilee Cousin III (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) has been named an assistant swimming and diving coach at the University of Wyoming.

Cousin III brings a wealth of coaching experience to Wyoming. He recently served as the head junior/associate senior coach for YSSC in Spartanburg, S.C. since 2016. Cousin III was responsible for developing the quadrennial training plan, used by the Junior (13-14) and Senior (15+) divisions of the program, at the Middle Tyger YMCA training site.

Prior to the Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club he coached at USA Swimming Silver Medal Club Ozaukee Aquatics in Mequon (Greater Milwaukee), Wisc. Cousin III primarily worked with the 13-14 year old athletes and assisted with the Senior Elite athletes.

During his coaching career, he has had the privilege of inspiring young student-athletes reach for the highest levels of achievement in the sport of swimming and use the sport to assist in the development of their character, discovery of their purpose and the realization of their potential. Cousin III also worked with multiple YMCA National, USA-S Junior National, USA-S Senior National and U.S. Olympic Trial qualifiers.

He graduated from Penn State Behrend with a bachelor of science in business economics and finance with a certificate in financial planning in the spring of 2011. Cousin III was a four-year member of the swimming and diving team, helping the Lions win four straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships from 2006-10. Upon graduation, he was a volunteer assistant coach at Behrend for two years and continued to work with the Erie Aquatics Club as an associate head swimming coach.
