ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the Fall 2020 semester.
The Lions, who have 14 student-athletes on the rosters, combined for a 3.52 team grade point average in the fall term this season to earn Scholar All-Academic Team recognition. The men were also recognized among other Division III teams with a combined 3.29 grade-point average thanks to the 23 student-athletes on the squad. More than 450 institutions were honored by the CSCAA after earning team cumulative grade point averages above 3.0.
The Behrend Lions showed resilience in the classroom during a global pandemic that upended the academic and athletic schedules. Both teams look to get back in the water this semester with a chance to continue to compete virtually.
