Men's Tennis Falls Twice

ERIE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team fell in a pair of non-conference matches this weekend, dropping 5-4 to Westminster and 9-0 to Elmira.

The Lions narrowly fell to the Titans Friday night at Westwood Racquet Club. Westminster took two of the three doubles matches for a 2-1 lead. Guillermo Guillen (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/EIS) and Andrew Trinh (Laguna Beach, CA/Tustin) were 8-5 winners at No. 1 doubles for Behrend.

The two teams split the singles games. The Titans took matches one, two and three while the Lions took the final three. Trinh earned his second win at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 7-5 score. Brett Palmer (North East, PA/North East) defeated Sam Angelo 6-1, 6-1 in the fifth spot and George Tomoiga (Reading, PA/Wilson) won 7-6 and 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

In the second match on Saturday, Elmira won every game and only gave up a total of 17 points for the win.

Behrend returns to action on Friday at D'Youville. Match begins at 7 p.m.
