Men's Tennis Ousted By Houghton

HOUGHTON, NY – The Houghton men's tennis team posted a 7-2 victory over Penn State Behrend in non-conference action at the Kerr-Pegula Field House on Tuesday night.

The Highlanders (1-3) snapped the Lions (8-5) six-match winning streak with two doubles victories and five singles decisions.

Scott Russell (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) was the lone double winner on the night for Behrend. He teamed with Yanique Apgar (Pittsburgh, PA) at No. 1 doubles for a close 9-7 decision against Zach Shilvock and Jordan Crouch.

Russell then tallied a 7-6 (9-7) and 6-2 score against Crouch at No. 2 singles for Behrend's second point of the match.

The Lions return to action on Friday at Franciscan. Match time is to be determined.
