Men's Tennis All-AMCC Team Announced

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team had six players named to the 2018 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Tuesday.

Senior Yanique Apgar (Pittsburgh, PA), junior Brent McFarland (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) and sophomores Scott Russell (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Brenden Dollard (Pittsburgh, PA/Peters Township) were selected to the second team in singles and doubles. Sophomores Noah Colvin (Warren, PA/Warren) and Michael Duckett (Girard, PA/Fairview) were chosen to the second team at No. 3 doubles.

Apgar is earning his third all-conference honors at No. 1 singles. He finished with a 10-5 overall record and 3-1 mark in the conference, falling to the eventual Player of the Year. He led the AMCC in winning percentage (.643) at the No. 1 spot.

Russell earned second-team honors for posting a 12-4 overall singles record, including an 11-2 mark at the second spot. He also went 1-2 at No. 1 singles and only lost once in conference play. Russell ranked second in the conference for most singles wins (12) and had the best winning percentage at No. 2 singles (.846).

Apgar and Russell were also honored at No. 1 doubles. They finished with a 13-2 overall record in the top spot and also went 3-1 in conference play, falling to AMCC Champions Franciscan.

Dollard and McFarland were recognized on the second team at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Dollard and McFarland tied Russell for second in the AMCC for most singles wins in a season with a 12 wins. The pair each went 4-1 in conference play. The duo also earned second-team honors at No. 2 doubles. Together they posted a 6-5 record and 3-1 mark in conference.

Colvin and Duckett rounded out the list on the second team at No. 3 doubles. The duo tallied a 6-9 record together, including a 3-1 mark in AMCC action to earn their first all-conference honors.
