Men's Tennis Hosts Pitt-Bradford in Home Opener Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team will host Pitt-Bradford in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener for both teams on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Behrend Lions fell 8-1 to Nazareth on Wednesday in the season opener
* Michael Brudy (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) was the lone winner for the Lions at No. 3 singles
* Brudy earned his first singles win with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Tyler Luong
* Newcomer Jonathan Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) fell in a tiebreaker super set 10-8 at No. 1 singles
Mitchell May (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) also fell in a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles (6-3, 3-6, 3-6) 
* In their last match against the Panthers, Behrend defeated Pitt-Bradford 5-0 on October 26, 2019

Pitt-Bradford News & Notes:

* The Panthers had their first match of the season postponed on Sept. 7
* Pitt-Bradford was set to host Alfred on Tuesday
* The Panthers did not compete last spring and graduated all returning players in 2020
* Pitt-Bradford roster features a team of seven players entirely new to the program
