HILTON HEAD, SC – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on the first day of competition over Spring Break in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Gordon 6, Penn State Behrend 3
Messiah 7, Penn State Behrend 2
Match One:
* The Behrend Lions tallied two doubles wins and a singles win at the No. 6 spot
* Alex Graeca (DuBois, PA/DuBois) was a double winner for the Lions
* Graeca joined forces with Evan Dean (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) for an 8-7 win at No. 3
* Graeca then posted a 6-3, 6-1 No. 6 singles victory
* Mitchell May (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) and Jonathon Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) got the other doubles win at No. 1 by a score of 8-7
Match Two:
* The Lions picked up wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles
* Max Lu (Plum, PA/Plum) and Matthew McCullough (Penfield, PA/DuBois Area) recorded a close 8-7 win over Jonathan Bakori and Ellis Martin
* Laier won the singles match on the night
* Laier defeated Chase Wilson 6-2 and 6-4
