Obenrader All-American in Shot Put; Places Seventh at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) earned his seventh All-American honor for his career with a seventh-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the Spire Institute on Friday.

Obenrader threw 16.41m (53-10.25) on his second attempt to earn two points for the Lions with seventh overall. The senior joins just two other Division III athletes who earned All-American in the shot put and javelin in the same season.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) also competed in the 100m preliminaries on the day, taking 18th with a time of 12.36.

The men's team currently has 10 points for the championships with Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) competing in the pole vault tomorrow at 12 p.m. and Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning) competing in the finals of the 400m hurdles at 1:20 p.m.
