Men's Track and Field Team Travels to Mt. Union

ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team ran at The University of Mount Union on Sunday in the Jim Wuske Invitational.

The Lions had a total of 16 Top 10 finishers on Saturday. Penn State Behrend's 'A' squad, comprised of Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Greg Graf (South Park, PA/South Park), Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City), and Devin Ross (Shenango, PA/Shenago), won the 800 relay and qualified for ECAC's with a winning time of 1:34.17

Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) earned a spot at the ECAC championships for the one mile, posting a time of 4:30.60.

In the 800 run, Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) took second place with a time of 2:02.10. Jarrod Lipsy (Kersey, PA/St. Mary's Area) competed in 1000 run and picked up a second-place finish as well. He crossed the finish line at 2:41.92.

Graf, Nick Coleman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), and Josh Coleman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) all placed in the top 15 in the 200 dash. Graf led the way in fourth place at 53:86, while the Josh Coleman and Nick Coleman placed seventh and 12th with times of 54.43 and 56.84, respectively.

In the 500 dash, Ross and Jeremy Spricher (Beaver Falls, PA/Riverside) finished in fifth and ninth, respectively. They notched times of 1:10.82 and 1:11.90. Rodgers and Eberhardt also ran in the 200 dash. Rodgers finished in eighth at 23.39, and Eberhardt took 12th with a time of 23.62.

Ross, Spricher, Coleman, and Graf took fourth place in the 1600 relay at a time of 3:36.56, while Drozynski, Eberhardt, Coleman, and Buffington earned ninth place with a time of 3:46.16 in the same event.

Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) finished in ninth place in the 3000 run, running at a time of 9:14.48. Colby Tarr (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) earned a sixth-place finish on the day, finishing the 60m hurdles in 9.02.

In the field events, Kyle Grimm (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) rose to a fifth place finish in the pole vault with a height of 4.20m. Kevin Stebick (Waterford, PA/Fort LaBoeuf) and Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville) tied for sixth at a height of 4.05m. Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) jumped at a height of 3.90m, good enough for an eighth-place finish.

In the high jump, Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) leaped at a height of 1.83m, earning a seventh-place finish. Rodgers also competed in the long jump, where he took sixth. He leaped at a distance of 6.22m.

The Lions return to the track at Tiffin Saturday with an 11 a.m. start.
