Men's and Women's Track & Field Set to Compete at ECAC's

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships this weekend at the Armory Track in New York, NY.

On the men's team, 15 runners have qualified to run at the championships. The qualifiers and their respective events are listed below:

Colton Barger (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) – 1000m

Michael Cross (Fairview, PA/Fairview) – 500m

Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville) – Pole Vault

Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) – 1000m and Mile Run

Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) – 200m

Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) – Pole Vault

Greg Graf (South Park, PA/South Park) – 500m

Kyle Grimm (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) – Pole Vault

Jarrod Lipsey (Kersey, PA/St. Mary's Area) – 1000m

Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City) – 200m

Devin Ross (Shenango, PA/Shenango) – 500m

Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) – High Jump

Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) – 3000m

4x200m Relay – Eberhardt, Rodgers, Graf, Ross

4x400m Relay – Ross, Nick Coleman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), Graf, Rodgers

4x800m Relay – Cross, Alex Kubala (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills), Drozynski, Lipsey

As for the women, they qualified 10 athletes to compete at the championships. Their respective events are listed as follows:

Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch) – 200m and 500m

Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) – 3000m

Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) – 3000m and 5000m

Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) – Pole Vault

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) – 200m, 400m, and 60m High Hurdles

Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview) – 1000m

Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) – 1000m

Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) – 800, 1000m, and Mile Run

Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) – Pole Vault

4x200m Relay – Yenchik, Pell, Carlsson, Loeffler

4x400m Relay – Loeffler, Yenchik, Carlsson, Pell

4000m DMR – Carr (1200m), Tiayerra Stroncek (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) (400m), Shelton (800m), Sargent (1600m)

The Lions are looking to make improvements in their times and qualify for NCAAs. To qualify, men must be in the Top 15 and women must have a Top 17 time, or distance, in the country.

The ECAC meet is set to get started on Friday at 12 a.m., and will be followed by a 9 a.m. started on Saturday to wrap things up.
