Rodgers, Pell Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City) and Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) were named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) male and female Track and Field Athletes of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

For the men, Rodgers set a new Penn State Behrend school and meet record in the 400m with a first-place finish and time of 49.04. Along with his winning time in the 400m run, he won both the 200m dash and 4x100 relay with final times of 22.53 and 44.05, respectively. Rodgers qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for each of his three winning events.

As for the women, Pell posted winning times in the 400m run as well as the 400m hurdles, good enough to qualify her for the ECACs in both events. In the 400m race, she crossed the finish line at 59.37 for the first-place finish. Then, Pell recorded a 1:06.16 in the 400m hurdles to win the race. She also took second place in the 4x400 relay with a final time of 4:13.09.
