Track and Field Competes at Cal U Saturday

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team competed in the Cal U Early Bird Invite on Saturday at California University of PA.

Key Moments: 

* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) finished second in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.96m
* Smith also finished seventh in the long jump (5.99m)
* The men's 4x100m relay team of Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Jonathan Wu (Acton, MA/Acton Boxborough), Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney), and Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) finished in fourth place, qualifying for the All-Atlantic Championships with a time of 43.26
* Eberhardt also finished tenth in the 400m dash, running a 52.95
* Georgetson finished second in the pole vault, also qualifying for All-Atlantic Championships
* Following Georgetson were Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville), Nick LaChut (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Kyle Grimm (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area), and Kevin Stebick (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), coming third, fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively
* Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) finished in third in the men's 1500m run (4:06.76), followed by Colton Barger (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) who finished sixth (4:16.74)
* Matt Michael (Erie, PA/Iroquois) competed in the men's shot put, taking home third with a toss of 13.72m
* Michael also took seventh in the hammer throw (38.09m)
* Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) finished seventh in the 5000m run with a time of 15:58.24
