Behrend Men Win CSAC Title

LAPLUME, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field team won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship on Sunday with a score of 269. Following the Lions was Alfred State with a score of 148, placing second.

Key Moments: 

* Antonio Stello was a two-time CSAC winner, winning both the 200m and 100m dash
* Stello came first in the 200m with a time of 22.21 followed by Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) with a time of 22.64, finishing second
* Stello also won the men's 100m dash event with a time of 10.88 followed closely by Eberhardt who finished second (10.95)
* Colby Tarr (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) become a two-time winner, winning the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.33 along with winning the javelin on Saturday
* Ben Wright (New Sewickley, PA/Freedom Area) followed Tarr in the hurdles, finishing third
* Tarr also finished second in the men's 400m hurdle event (58.74), followed by Michael Cross (Fairview, PA/Fairview) in third (1:01.65)
* Cross also took second in the 3000m steeplechase, running a time of 10:40.44
* The 4x100m team of Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), Stello, Nick Coleman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), and Eberhardt took home gold, running a 42.72 and scoring 10 points for the Lions and breaking the CSAC record
* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) won the men's high jump event with a height of 1.91m
* Matt Michael (Erie, PA/Iroquois) won the men's shot put event with a throw of 15.20m followed by Mason Nolan (Karns City, PA/Karns City) in third (13.42m)
* Michael also came second in the discus (41.49m) with John LaRoche (Union City, PA/Seneca) following closely behind in fourth (35.55m) and Nolan in fifth (31.87m)
* Coleman, Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport), Isaac Jones (Union City, PA/Union City Area) and Kevin Stebick (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) finished second through fifth in the 400m dash, respectively
* Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) finished second in the men's 5000m run with a time of 16:04.43
* Zachary Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) and Colton Barger (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) each scored points for the Lions in the 800m run, coming third and fourth, respectively
* Georgetson registered second place in the long jump with a leap of 6.42m
