Smith Set to Compete at NCAA Track and Field Championships

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend track and field athlete Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) will be competing at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 24th. The event is held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio with Mount Union serving as the host. 

Smith will be competing in the men's high jump event, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday. He is currently ranked sixth in Division III with a qualifying mark of 2.09m. Smith qualified for the NCAA Championship with the 2.09m leap at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championship on Thursday. The men's team finished in 11th place at the All-Atlantic meet, moving their national ranking up to seventh in the mideast region, the team's highest of the year.
