Lions Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

ERIE, Pa. – For the fourth straight year, the Penn State Behrend men and women's track and field teams were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor seasons.

A program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade-point average. The women garnered a 3.22 GPA, while the men's team combined for a 3.19 GPA for the academic year to earn the honor.

Graduated senior Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) was the lone individual named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for a second straight year. Yenchik won the pole vault at the CSAC Championships and earned Field Athlete of the Year. She also was named All-Region in the pole vault after taking placing first at the All-Atlantic Championships.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
