Nine Named Track and Field All-Region

ERIE, Pa. – Nine members of the Penn State Behrend track and field team were named NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region, announced on Monday.

To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.

The two women to earn the award were seniors Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch). Loeffler was named All-Region in the 200m and Shelton in the 800m.

On the men's side Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), Kyle Grimm (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area), Nick Lachut (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Matt Michael (Erie, PA/Iroquois), Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) and Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) were all recognized for All-Region honors.

Smith, Georgetson, and Grimm were named All-Region for the second consecutive year. Smith earned honors in the high jump while Georgetson and Grimm were named All-Region in the men's pole vault.

Lachut received his first honors in the pole vault.Eberhardt was Mideast All-Region in the 60m. Michael received his first All-Region honors in the shot put while Stello picked up recognition in the 200m.

The Lions return to action as Smith, Georgetson, and Lachut compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
