Morgan Radel begins her first season as cross country and track & field assistant coach, after spending five years as a collegiate runner for the women’s cross country and track & field teams at Division II Minnesota Duluth.

During her time at UM Duluth, she was a two-time NCAA cross country qualifier and a two-time recipient of the Elite 18 Award. The Elite 18 is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate College's 18 Championships.

Radel served as a four-year captain of the women’s cross country team.

Outside of athletics, she worked as a Congressional Campaign Intern during the summer of 2020.

Academically, Radel performed a two-year Master of Professional Studies research project, while serving as a research assistant in the geography department during the spring of 2021.

From 2022-23, she worked as part time field staff for the Athletes in Action Organization, which entailed organizing fundraisers within the athletic department and connecting with student-athletes on a weekly basis to help support their faith, athletics, academics, and personal experiences.

Along with these tasks, Radel earned Dean’s List honors and was a member of the University Honors from 2018-21, while also being a student leader and editorial board member for the Interdisciplinary Honors Journal. She also would volunteer at the UM Duluth daycare for 6-8 hours/week as a freshman and sophomore.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and environment, sustainability, and geography with a minor in geographic information science and then went on to earn her Master of Professional Studies in Multidisciplinary Research and Creativity from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Throughout her time at UM Duluth, Radel maintained a 4.0 grade-point average.
