Men's Volleyball Defeats Altoona; Falls to D'Youville

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team split a pair of matches, first falling to D'Youville 3-2 and then defeating Penn State Altoona 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Altoona.

The Lions (15-14) got their second win over the Altoona Lions by set scores 25-14, 25-16 and 25-20. The Spartans avenged a 3-0 loss at the Junker Center earlier this season to post a 25-22, 17-25, 25-18, 16-25 and 15-11 win.

Against D'Youville, the Lions had three players with double figure kills. Nathan Steele (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) finished with a .429 hitting percentage and a team-high 17 kills. Grant Kocher (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) registered 14 kills and Evan Fullerton (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) dished out 30 assists.

In the win over Altoona, Kyle Brant (Derry, PA/Derry) had 14 kill on 25 attempts to lead the Behrend attack while posting seven blocks. Colin Ingram (Hilliard, OH/Hilliard Darby) handed out 28 assists.

The Lions return to action on Saturday against Nazareth in the quarterfinals of the UVC Tournament.
