Brock Tetreault led D'Youville with 18 kills, while Alex Johnson added 13 digs and Matt Loos made eight blocks at the net.

Behrend jumped out to a 19-11 lead in the first set thanks to flawless hitting from Derek Polishen (Plum, PA/Plum), who had four kills on seven attempts. The Spartans narrowed the lead to four points with the last at 23-19, but Eric Theiss (Plum, PA/Plum) registered a kill and the Lions won the set on an attack error.

The next two sets came down to the wire. D'Youville had match-point three times, before an attack error tied it at 24-all. A kill from Tetreault and a block by Loos and Brett Cawthorn tied the match at 1-all.

The Spartans faced the same situation in the third set with three chances at match point. A service error tied the set at 25-all. Sheehan served the final two points, getting an attack error out of D'Youville and then getting his only ace of the game to put Behrend ahead 2-1.

The fourth set had nine ties with the last coming at 16-all. The Lions began to pull away, using three errors by the Spartans to hold on for the 25-21 win and the match.

Mitch Farabaugh (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) set his way to 25 assists and added nine digs. Libero Joe Price (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) posted a team-best 14 digs.
