ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville men's volleyball team picked up their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win with a 3-1 victory over Penn State Behrend on Wednesday night.

The Spartans (3-7, 1-1 AMCC) had three players with double-digit kills to earn their first win over the Lions (2-5, 0-2 AMCC) for the first time since 2013. Brock Tetreault registered a game-high 16 kills and eight digs to help D'Youville post a 19-25, 25-19, 25-19 and 25-18 decision.

Behrend never trailed in the first set and jumped out to a 15-10 lead to force the Spartans to take their first time out. D'Youville got within one point on two occasions with the latter coming at 19-18. From there, the Lions held the Spartans to just one point and rolled to a 25-19 win thanks the serving of Eric Theiss (Plum, PA/Plum). The senior recorded back-to-back aces and D'Youville posted two errors, before Oertly had the final say with his third kill of the set for a Behrend 1-0 lead in the match.

The Spartans hit .367 in the second set and registered 15 kills to help even the match at 1-all after the second set. Evan Singer tallied two of his four kills in the last four offensive points for D'Youville, while Tetreault knocked in the final point for his fourth kill at 25-19.

The third set resembled the second for the Spartans. D'Youville grabbed an eight-point lead late in the set (20-12) and rolled to an identical 25-19 decision, ending on a Tetreault kill. The Lions had a chance to even the match in the fourth, keeping the set within a point until the end. At 17-all, Tetreault served five straight points, collecting an ace and getting a kill from Alex Ritter to make it 22-17. Both Ritter and Tetreault knocked in kills and won on a Behrend error, 25-18.
