ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's volleyball freshman setter Calvin Nowicki (Eden, NY/Eden) has been named the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Newcomer of the Week, announced on Monday.
Nowicki dished out 63 assists, 24 digs, four blocks and three aces in a 2-1 week for the Lions (8-11). The freshman had double-digit assists in each match, including his first-ever triple double against No. 10 Hunter on Saturday. Nowicki had his best performance with 24 assists, 11 digs and 10 kills in four sets.
Nowicki has 372 assists on the season along with 95 digs and 46 kills.
Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Elmira. Match begins at 7 p.m.
