ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team took down Iona, a Division-I program, 12-11 on Friday evening at the Junker Center Pool.

* Behrend took down Iona, a Division-I program, 12-11 for the first time in program history
* Isaak Hatopp (Saline, MI/Saline) scored the game-winning goal off a penalty shot with 1:48 left in the game
* The Lions were down 4-0 midway through the first period
* Hatopp and Andre Sardaryzadeh (Murrieta, CA/Elsinore) scored back-to-back goals in the second period to cut the Gaels lead to one
* Sardaryzadeh struck again scoring the sixth goal for the Lions assisted by Collin Holmes (Lake Forest, CA/El Toro) to tie the match
* The game continued to be back and forth before Iona took an 11-8 lead with two minute remaining in the third period
* With five minutes left in the game, Sardaryzadeh tied the game off a Hatopp helper
* Following Hatopp's game-winning goal, the Lions were able to continue to hold the Gaels and secure the win
* In goal, Matt Olimski (San Diego, CA/Otay Ranch) tallied 24 saves
* Hatopp led the team with four goals followed by Sardaryzadeh with three
