ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend softball player AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week.
Nichols earned a pair of wins this week in conference action, allowing just one earned run for a 0.58 ERA. She pitched 12 innings, including a complete game in a 3-1 win over Penn State Altoona in the AMCC Game of the Week. Nichols fanned five batters and only walked two.
She is ranked fourth in the AMCC in wins (9) and is fifth in ERA (2.44) for pitching and is first in batting average (.423).
The Lions (20-12) return to action tomorrow in a non-conference doubleheader against Fredonia. Game times are 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
