Bupp Named NCAA Division III Statistical Champion

ERIE, Pa. – Former Penn State Behrend softball shortstop and pitcher Alexa Bupp (Warren, PA/Warren) has been named the 2017-18 NCAA Division III statistical champion for saves.

Bupp made 28 appearances in the circle this season for the Lions (32-13) and recorded nine saves, breaking the school record for career saves with 14. She posted a 1.76 ERA in 31 innings pitched while striking out 45 batters. Bupp was a two-time All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) selection. She was a second-team choice at shortstop and third-team selection as pitcher.

Bupp tallied 41 hits and drove in six doubles to break the program record for career doubles at 46. She drove in 25 and scored 27 runs, playing in all 45 games for a .291 average.
