ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team registered two wins against Penn State Altoona on Saturday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader.

Game 1
* Behrend took on Altoona in the first game, winning 4-3
* Both teams scored one run up until the seventh inning, forcing the game to go to extra innings
* The Lions scored three runs in the top of the eighth then held the Altoona Lions to two runs to get the win
* Katie Gozzard (Pittsburgh, PA/Deer Lakes) led the team with one RBI, two doubles, and a run
* Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) finished with one double and a single, along with one run
* AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) pitched all eight innings, registering eight strikeouts
Game 2
* Behrend won the second game of the series against Penn State Altoona, 10-1
* The team were tied through five innings 1-1 before the Lions had a nine-run inning in the top of the sixth to finish the game
* The Lions had only singles in the sixth inning to score the nine runs
* Gozzard, McIntire, and Marissa Torretti (DuBois, PA/DuBois) each had two RBI's in the game
* Nichols, Carson Hauser (Westfield, NY/Westfield Academy), Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois), and Kristen Kargol (Saegertown, PA / Cambridge Springs) each chipped in one RBI
* Brittney Williams (Atlantic, PA / Conneaut Lake) had the win in the circle
