Eight Named NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team had eight student-athletes recognized to the 2018/19 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete Team for their academic performance.

Seniors Katie Gozzard (Pittsburgh, PA/Deer Lakes) and AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) were named to the NFCA All American Scholar-Athlete team for achieving a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for 2018-19. Junior Alayna Derzak (Seven Fields, PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic), sophomores Angela Dale (Clinton, PA/West Allegheny) and Lauren Olevnik (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights), and freshman Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/Dubois Area), Amy Nolte (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny), and Ashleigh Schmidt (Sarver, PA/Freeport) were also selected to the scholar-athlete team.

As a team, Penn State Behrend was ranked tied for 34th place with a 3.50 overall GPA out of 117 teams nationwide.
