Behrend Softball Set to Host 2023 AMCC Championships
The Penn State Behrend softball team earned the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the 2023 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships this weekend, beginning Thursday, May 11.

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team earned the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the 2023 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships this weekend, beginning Thursday, May 11.
The Lions (19-17), the defending AMCC Champions, will be making their 22nd appearance in the tournament. Behrend was named the regular-season champions with a 12-2 conference mark to secure home-field advantage for the championships.
The Lions received a bye and will face the winner of No. 4 La Roche vs. No. 5 Pitt-Bradford at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. The first game will feature No. 3 Penn State Altoona and No. 6 Pitt-Greensburg at 10 a.m. The winner of the first game takes on No. 2 Mt. Aloysius in the third game of the day.
The double-elimination tournament continues with five games on Friday and a possible two games on Sunday if necessary. The champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Behrend is going for its third straight and 10th overall conference championship.
