Saltzman, Oldach Named AMCC Players of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Chris Saltzman and Amy Oldach have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week, respectively.

For Saltzman, this is the second time this season he has earned the honor. Oldach is picking up her first AMCC nomination. 

Saltzman averaged 26.5 ppg for two contests, shooting 55.6% from the field and contributing 5.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 showing at the St. John Fisher Tournament.  He scored a career-high 35 points against Clark and followed up with 18 points, six rebounds and two assists in a win over Farmingdale State.

Saltzman is averaging 17.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in nine games for the Lions.

Oldach averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.5 assists in two non-conference wins for the Lions over break. She recorded her second-best scoring performance of the season against Alfred, pouring in 28 points. Oldach also added 21 points, nine boards, five steals and four assists in the win over Nazareth.  For the week, she shot 55.6 percent from the floor and 69.2 percent from behind the arc.

Oldach paces the women with 17.1 ppg and is 87 points away from reaching the 1,000-point plateau for her career.

Behrend is back in action on Wednesday with am AMCC doubleheader against D’Youville in the Junker Center. Game times are 6 and 8 p.m.
