Alma Defeats Penn State Behrend in Wilmington Tournament

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Reanna Zink and Mallory Pruett each tallied 18 points to lead the Alma women's basketball team past Penn State Behrend 80-54 in the consolation game of the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Alma shot 58 percent (10-for-17) from three-point range and 50 percent (27-of-54) from the floor to pick up its second win of the season.

Ally Burke (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) led the Lions (0-5) for the second straight night. She had a game-high 23 points on 9-for-11 free-throw shooting. Erika Woll (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) added seven points and six boards.

Alma jumped out to a double-digit lead at 14-4 just five minutes into the game. At 36-23, the Lions went on a 10-0 run behind five points from Burke to make it a three-point game at 36-33.

Alma closed out the first half with back-to-back triples for a 42-34 lead.

The Lions could not recover in the second half and Alma kept Behrend at an arms length for the win.

Brittany Kiger (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) finished with seven points and five rebounds.

The Lions return to action on Wednesday, December 3 against D'Youville at 6 p.m.
