BRADFORD, Pa. – Alicia Kimmel scored a game-high 18 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and made six steals to lead Pitt-Bradford past Penn State Behrend 60-45 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers (5-4, 2-1 AMCC) took a 14-point lead into the locker rooms and held on for their second conference win of the season. Abby Brate and Allison Osborne were two starters for Pitt-Bradford also in double-figure scoring with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Ally Burke (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) paced the Lions (0-10, 0-4 AMCC) with 17 points and three steals. Brittany Kiger (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) tied a career high with 13 rebounds and added 11 points for her third double-double this year.

Behrend was even with the Panthers in the first 10 minutes of the opening half, working the ball inside and getting buckets in the paint. With the score tied at 14-all at the 10:19 mark, Pitt-Bradford went on a 15-2 run to take a 29-16 lead with minutes left before halftime. An original three-point play by Kaserra Owens started the spurt, while Kimmel and Osborne each contributed four points to get the Panthers to a comfortable advantage.

Down 16, the Lions were able to cut the lead down to eight on two occasions with the last coming with 7:52 left to play.

An ensuing layup from Brate gave Pitt-Bradford the double-digit lead for good.  Brate also scored the final six points for the Panthers to make the final margin by 15.

Fontaine Glenn (West Sunbury, PA/Moniteau) tallied 10 points and grabbed a season-best nine rebounds, helping the Lions edge Pitt-Bradford 44-38 on the boards.

Behrend returns to action on Monday at John Carroll. Game time is 1 p.m.
