ERIE, Pa. – The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team had three starters score double figures to defeat Penn State Behrend 63-50 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday night at the Junker Center.

The Panthers (12-5, 9-2 AMCC) opened the game with a commanding 17-0 run in the first 12 minutes, paving the way for their ninth conference win to stay in second place in the AMCC. Alicia Kimmel went 8-for-13 from the field for a game-high 16 points.

Senior Brittany Kiger (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) registered her fourth double-double of the season for the Lions (4-15, 4-8 AMCC) with 10 points and game-high 14 rebounds. Ally Burke (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) and Sadie Zielinski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) each posted double digits with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

After holding Behrend scoreless until the 7:24 mark of the first stanza, Pitt-Bradford only allowed 10 points in the remainder of the half for a 16-point lead at intermission.

The Lions recovered in the second half and outscored the Panthers 40-37 behind 50 percent shooting from the floor, their second highest percentage this season. Behrend also held a slight 38-35 edge in rebounding for the game.

Pitt-Bradford made 13 steals and scored 26 points off turnovers to post its fourth consecutive win over the Lions and second straight this season.

Fontaine Glenn (West Sunbury, PA/Moniteau) added seven points and seven rebounds for Behrend.

The Lions return to action on Saturday at Penn State Altoona. Game time is 1 p.m.
