Lions Travel To Medaille in AMCC First-Round Action

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team will be making its 19th appearance in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament when they travel to Medaille for a first-round game on Wednesday night.

The Lions (12-13, 10-8 AMCC) earned the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 Medaille (14-11, 11-7 AMCC) at 8 p.m. The winner will travel to No. 1 seed Hilbert on Saturday afternoon to face the Hawks in the semifinals at 1 p.m. In the other first-round game, No. 6 La Roche travels to No. 3 Pitt-Bradford with the winner taking on No. 2 Mt. Aloysius in the second semifinal.

The two semifinal winners will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hilbert. The tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Behrend is looking for its third conference championship and first since the 2003-04 season. The Lions have advanced to eight title games since the inception of the AMCC back in 1997. During the regular season, Medaille took both games from Behrend, winning at home 77-66 and then 77-67 at the Junker Center. The Lions enter the contest on a four-game winning streak.
