No. 1 Behrend Women's Basketball Falls Short in AMCC Championship

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 2 La Roche Redhawks women's basketball team won its 11^th overall Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship with a 67-55 win over No. 1 Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon in the Junker Center.

Noteworthy: Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) and Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) were named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team

Key Moments:

* The Redhawks avenged a pair of regular-season losses to the Behrend Lions to claim the championship and represent the AMCC in the NCAA Tournament
* With the win, La Roche snapped the Lions 15-game winning streak and held them to their lowest offensive output this season of 55 points
* Behrend opened the game with the first four points and the Redhawks gained control from there
* Jazmine Dunn and Dasja Anderson had double-digit points by halftime (15,11)
* Dunn and Anderson helped La Roche grab its biggest lead at 33-16 with 2:40 left in the second quarter
* After the break, the Lions outscored the Redhawks 20-7 in the third quarter for a one-point advantage heading into the fourth
* Altavilla and Majewski each tallied seven points in the third to spark hope for Behrend
* Early foul trouble for the Lions sent La Roche to the line 23 times in the final period
* Dunn shot 9-for-12, while Anderson connected on three of four to help secure the win down the stretch
* Dunn led all scorers with 26 points and Anderson chipped in 16 points with six rebounds
* Altavilla tallied a team-best 16 points and  Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) registered 14 points and seven rebounds
