Wrestling Takes Four From DII Gannon "B"

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team fell to Division II Gannon "B" 35-19 in a non-conference dual match on Tuesday night in Erie Hall.

The Lions won the first bout and the final three, earning victories by two technical falls, a pin and a decision.  

At 125, Jacob Fankhouser (Warren, PA/Warren) picked up his fifth win of the season and first by a 16-0 tech. fall over Logan Munsee. The newcomer held a 6-0 lead after the first period and then doubled it after the second at 12-0. He earned three points in the third and got another point for riding time for the final margin. Jacob Paulson (Erie, PA/McDowell) continued to dominate at 184. The freshman won his 22 match of the season with a 19-2 technical fall over Darnell Parker. The win marks his team-leading fourth tech. fall. Paulson jumped out to an 11-1 advantage and needed wo more points in the second to end the bout but took a 16-2 score into the third period and did not waste any time getting the technical fall with a takedown.

At 197 and competing on senior night, Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) pinned Justin Ritter in 1:15 to get his sixth fall of the season and six points for Behrend in the team score.

Jacob Lenhardt (McKean, PA/General McLane) got the final three points for the Lions at heavyweight. He defeated Travis Schmeling with a 5-2 decision.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday at the Edinboro Open. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m.
