Behrend Wrestling Takes On Brockport Tonight

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team will host the Brockport Golden Eagles in their first home match of the New Year in the Junker Center on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

* The Lions are 8-5 in dual-meet action this season
* Behrend recently posted a 2-1 record at the AMCC duals on Saturday
* On Saturday, the Lions collected their first-ever dual-meet victory over Alfred State, 38-4
* Behrend also defeated Penn State Altoona 48-10 yet dropped a 29-13 decision to Penn
* Three wrestlers posted a 3-0 record at the AMCC duals
* Cole Neil (St. Mary's PA/Saint Marys), Steffan Lynch (North East, PA/North East) and Rudy Brown (Burgettstown, PA/Burgettstown) had three wins apiece
* Lynch made his first appearance in a Behrend uniform, earning a pin, a decision win and a technical fall over regionally-ranked Owen Cummings of Alfred State
* Neil, Nolan Fenton (Kersey, PA/Saint Marys) and Matt Caldwell (Wheatfield, NY/Starpoint) each registered a pin on the day
* With the three wins, R. Brown improves to 14-1 on the season and 12-0 in dual-meet action
* Fenton continues to lead the team with 17 wins and 10 falls

* The Golden Eagles enter the dual meet with a 5-0 record
* In the home opener last weekend, Brockport defeated Utica 55-0 and Niagara County Community College, 50-4
* The Golden Eagles registered 11 total pins, one tech. fall, and two major decisions
* Brockport used seven pins and won every match against Utica
