Caleb Garvey has been named the third head wrestling coach in program history. 

Garvey comes from SUNY Brockport where he spent the last three months as the head coach before resigning due to personal matters. Prior to Brockport, he was the assistant wrestling coach at Thiel College, his alma mater, for three seasons.

During his time at Thiel, Garvey helped lead the Tomcats to a President's Athletic Conference (PAC) Team Championship, 10 PAC Individual Champions, 12 National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-Americans and he also helped mentor a two-time National qualifier. He was also the recruiting coordinator, helping secure 49 recruits in just three classes, including 10 state medalists and 21 PA/OH/NY state qualifiers. Garvey was also responsible for overseeing the academic progress of the program which held the highest grade point average in the athletic department.

His responsibilities at Thiel also included advising the Thiel Student Athlete Advisory Committee and he has been a clinician at several local wrestling clubs including Titan, Johnsonburg, and Bad Karma WC.

Garvey was a three-year starter on the wrestling team during his undergraduate days, helping the Tomcats receive three straight NWCA All-Academic awards.

He joined the United States Air Force in 2014 and he is currently a Logistics Readiness Officer in Coraopolis, PA. He served six years as a Security Forces (police) member prior to commissioning as an officer.

Garvey graduated from Thiel in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Garvey holds a master's degree in education with a concentration in collegiate student affairs from Youngstown State University.
