Second-Half Scoring Lifts Women's Soccer Past Fredonia

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) each scored two goals to lead Penn State Behrend women's soccer team past Fredonia 5-2 on the second day of the Fredonia Blue Devil Classic on Saturday.

Oberlander also added an assist while Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) continues her scoring streak at three straight games to help the Lions (3-2) post a 1-1 record at the tournament.

Donohue, Oberlander and Sami Lowry (Pittsburg, PA/Pine-Richland) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Belack and Oberlander tallied a goal in each half. Belack started the scoring in the seventh minute off an assist from Oberlander, before Aleeya Clemnons found the back of the net less than a minute later to even it at 1-all.

Oberlander buried an unassisted tally in the 32nd minute to give Behrend a 2-1 lead at halftime.

The Blue Devils were able to knot the game once again at the 51:27 mark off a goal from Abby Price.

The next three goals belonged to the Lions in a span of 15 minute to take the lead for good. Donohue scored the eventual game winner in the 67th minute off a pass from Lowry, while Belack pushed the lead to 4-2 with her second goal of the day and season.

Oberlander tallied her second goal with 8:31 left to play for the final three-goal margin.

Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) made five saves on nine shots to collect her third win in goal.

Behrend returns to action on Wednesday against Mt. Union. Game time is 7 p.m.
