Lloyd Named Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend athletics announces the full-time hiring of former women's soccer standout Shelby Lloyd (Beaver, PA/Butler). She spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant coach and will begin her third year as the program's first-ever full-time assistant coach.

Lloyd, a two-year captain, helped the Lions win four straight AMCC Championships and make four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament from 2011-15. The three-time All-AMCC performer was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. Her freshman year, she was named the team's Rookie of the Year after starting all 22 games and scoring three goals. In her four years, she led Behrend to a 56-28-4 overall record.

Prior to returning to her alma mater, Lloyd spent a season as the head women's soccer coach at Beaver High School and with Stars United club team. She also worked for the Beaver Area school district.

Lloyd received a bachelor of science in accounting in 2015 and earned her MBA at Behrend in 2018.

In addition to Lloyd, former Scholar All-American Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) will also join the staff as a volunteer coach in the fall. Oberlander had a record-breaking senior year, setting new program records for single-season goals and points.
