ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's soccer freshman Brenna McGuire (McDonald, PA/South Fayette) was named the Eastern College Athletic Association Conference Rookie of the Month for her outstanding play so far this season.
The freshman forward's nine goals and 21 points lead both Penn State Behrend and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. McGuire has netted three game-winners this season and has helped Penn State Behrend to a 3-0 start in AMCC play. McGuire tallied her first career hat-trick against Medaille in a 6-0 win over the Mavericks. She also scored twice against both La Roche and Pitt-Greensburg. Penn State Behrend won those matches 5-2 and 2-0 respectively.
On Monday, October 1, McGuire was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week.
Penn State Behrend will be back in action on Saturday, October 6 at Franciscan. Kickoff this weekend is scheduled for 1 p.m.
