Lions Set to Host Annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will host the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament this weekend at the soccer complex on Friday and Saturday, August 30 and 31.

* Head Coach Patrick O'Driscoll begins his 15th year with the Lions
* O'Driscoll enters the season with a 187-91-18 record and needs 13 wins to reach 200 for his career
* The Lions won their eighth straight AMCC Championship last season and made their eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance
* Behrend finished last season with a 13-7 overall record and a conference record of 9-0
* The Lions were picked to finish first in the AMCC in the annual preseason coaches poll
* Brenna McGuire (McDonald, PA/South Fayette) was named the AMCC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year 

Meet the Opposition:

* Baldwin Wallace was picked sixth in the 2019 OAC Preseason Poll
* Last year, the Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 11-7-1 and a 5-4 mark in the OAC, advancing to the postseason tournament for the fifth consecutive year
* Baldwin Wallace returns 28 letter winners while also welcoming nine new faces to the pitch this fall
* Kenyon ended the 2018 season with an overall record of 8-6-3
* Head coach Kelly Bryan enters her 17th season this year
* The Ladies return 14 players who played in at least 13 games last season, seven whom are projected starters
* Nazareth finished last season with a 9-5-4 record
* The Golden Flyers missed the Empire 8 conference playoffs in 2018 for the first time
* The team picks up nine new players this season along with the 18 returning players
