ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will open the 2021 season with a pair of back-to-back matches. The Lions will travel to Alfred on Friday night for a 4 p.m. match and then return home to welcome Pitt-Bradford for their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Friday, September 10: Behrend at Alfred, 4 p.m.
Saturday, September 11: Behrend vs. Pitt-Bradford, 1 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions are the reigning AMCC Champions from the spring
* Behrend defeated Pitt-Greensburg 5-4 to win its 14th overall championship
* The AMCC title came down to the No. 1 singles match featuring Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview)
* The Lions return four All-Conference players in Jasinski, Sara Howard (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood), Audra Carnes (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Rachel Weber (Allison Park, PA/Hampton)
* Carnes and Howard led the team last spring with seven singles wins each
* Carnes and Jasinski teamed up at No. 2 doubles for a 6-3 overall record, while Howard and Weber tallied a 6-2 mark at No. 3 doubles
