Six Named to All-AMCC Women's Tennis Team

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team had six players named to the 2022 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Tuesday.

All six players landed on the All-AMCC second team, while Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview), Rachel Weber (Allison Park, PA/Hampton), Jayna Baer (Pittsburgh, PA/Moon) and Rachel Fleming (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys) were honored for both singles and doubles action.

Jasinski was the No. 1 player for Behrend in singles and doubles competition. In singles, the senior tallied a 10-2 overall record and a 4-1 conference mark to be named to the second team. Jasinski joined Weber at No. 1 double for an 8-3 record. The duo only fell once in conference play for a 4-1 mark and were named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team for a second straight season. Weber led the Lions at the No. 2 singles position to earn all-conference accolades with a 9-4 record and ending on a four-match winning streak.

Baer and Fleming were the other doubles pair earning All-Conference honors on the second team. Baer and Fleming posted a combined 7-4 overall record, including 4-1 in the AMCC. Baer was also selected at No. 3 singles and Fleming for No. 4 singles. Baer finished the season on a four-match winning streak to post a 9-4 overall record in the third spot, while Fleming matched her record at 9-4 and 4-1 in the AMCC.

Behrend swept the second-team singles awards with Keri Saulino (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) in the fifth spot and Madison Gannon (Union Springs, NY/Union Springs) at No. 6. Saulino went 4-1 in conference play and 7-6 overall, and Gannon managed to win the final three matches of the season to end 4-6 overall.
