Women's Track and Field Competes at Mt. Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio. - The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the Mt. Union Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) broke a school record for the second consecutive week.  The junior cleared a height of 3.17m which was good enough for third place in the pole vault.

In the women's distance medley, the team of Harwood, Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton), Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren), and Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) finished in first place with a time of 13:14.91.

Bertges and Hughes then competed in the 1000m run.  The combo represented Behrend well by taking second and fourth place.  Bertges finished in 3:20.97 while Hughes was close behind with a time of 3:24.29.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday for the Cornell Invitational.  Start time is 10 a.m.
