ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field team has been named a 2016-17 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
A program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade-point average (GPA). The Lions combined for a team GPA of 3.31 to earn the honor. Individually, senior Allen Paige (Butler, PA/Butler), senior Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) and junior Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) also represented Behrend on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for compiling a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and competing at the NCAA Championships this season.
A total of 608 women and 402 men earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons.
