Rodgers, Pell Earn ECAC Honors

ERIE, Pa. – Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City) and Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) were named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) North Division III Track and Field Athletes of the Week, announced on Wednesday.

After being selected as Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Athletes of the Week, both runners tab ECAC honors after this week's performance at Carnegie Mellon.

Rodgers led things off by setting a new school and meet record in the 400m run with a final time of 49.04 for a first-place finish. He continued on the day to notch two more first-place finishes in the 200m dash and 4x100 relay. Rodgers completed the 200m run at 22.53 and crossed the finish line at 44.05 in the 4x100 relay.

Likewise, Pell tallied a pair of first-place finishes of her own. In the 400m run, she ran a winning time of 59.37, followed by a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles at 1:06.16. Pell continued on the day to place second in the 4x400 relay with a final time of 4:13.09.

Both the men and women's track and field team will be back in action this weekend at Mt. Union. The meet is set to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday followed by a 10 a.m. start on Saturday.
