Women’s Track & Field Runs as Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the John Homon Invitational hosted by Mount Union Sunday.

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) continued to improve on already ECAC qualified time in the 400m hurdles. She won the event in a season-best 65.66.

Behrend's 'A' squad made up of Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Yenchik, Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), and Pell qualified for the ECACs with their fourth place finish time of 4:18.90

Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) and Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) both punched their tickets to the ECACs in the 500m run. Carr ran a time of 18:17.46 for sixth place while Crissman crossed the line at 18:39.37 in eighth.

In the pole vault, Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), Loeffler, and Brianna Keith (Erie, PA/McDowell) all rounded out in the top 10. Yenchik set the tone with a third-place finish and height of 3.23m. Loeffler took sixth at 2.93m while Keith placed ninth at 2.63m.

Carlsson also eanred 11th in the 400m dash with a personal best time of 1:02.49.

The Lions return to the track at Westminster Saturday with a 10 a.m. start.
