Women’s Track & Field Takes 13th at Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team placed 13th out of 20 teams in the Westminster Invitational Saturday with a team score of 14.

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) ran a season-best time in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line at an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying time of 64.83 for fifth place.

In the pole vault, Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), and Maddie Werner (Pittsburgh, PA/Bethel Park) all punched their tickets to the ECAC championships. Yenchik and Loeffler both re-qualify for the ECACs with eighth and 19th place finishes, leaping at heights of 3.50m and 3.05m, respectively. Werner earned her first-ever spot at the ECACs, raising a height of 2.75m for a 23rd place finish.

Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) took a second-place finish in the 1500m run, crossing the finish line at 5:00.74. In the 10000m run, Becca Worley (Erie, PA/McDowell) placed eighth with a time of 44;29.47, while Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) finished ninth in the 5000m run with a time of 19:28.84.

The Lions return to the track to race Saturday at their home invitational scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
