CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field team competed in the Cal U Early Bird Invite on Saturday to open the outdoor season.
Key Moments:
* Senior Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) opened the outdoor season with a win in the women's 3000m steeplechase (12:10.76)
* Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) won the women's pole vault, coming in at 3.60m
* Yenchik also finished third in the long jump, finishing with a leap of 4.89m
* In the 5000m run, Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) qualified for the All-Atlantic meet with a time of 18:35.57 and a fifth place finish
* Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) took home third place in the women's shot put with a 10.53m throw
* Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) finished fifth in the 800m run, along with a tenth place finish in the 1500m
* Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) tallied a seventh place finish in the 400m run (1:02.26)
* Loeffler also placed seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 26.88
